Course Leading to RVQ Level 2 plumbing
   
Study Method Formal classroom sessions and practical workshops. Focus on student centered learning with each individual student encouraged to learn at their own pace and abilities. A workshop and field based portfolio will be individually compiled
   
Duration 10 weeks of 5 days a week full-time course (excluding public Holidays) and over 90% attendance must be met.
   
Course is for Students who wish to gain all the necessary skills required and take plumbing as a career. It is also designed to enhance future employment opportunities in the industry.
   
Entry Requirements Young school leavers (at least 16 years of age), mature candidates and the disabled or any other student with basic knowledge of English. No formal qualification is required.

Introduction to Plumbing
Tools, Health and Safety
Creating and Maintaining Safe Working Environment
Pipe Installation and Maintenance of Systems
Commissioning and Decommissioning of Systems
Water Regulations
Fabrication, Installation and Maintenance of Sheet Lead Weathering
Customer Service and good Working Relationships
   
Assessments Continuous assessment is carried out on workshop based theory and practical sessions; only when students consider themselves ready by both Internal and External assessors. Field assessments and an external City & Guilds multiple-choice paper.
   
Course Leads To Progressional employment in the plumbing industry or higher studies in NVQ levels
